Boulder votes to continue exploration of municipalizing

On November 7th, Boulder voters reaffirmed their commitment to create a municipal utility after approving a ballot initiative by 3.5 points. As approved, the city will continue to fund the legal and planning process by some $16 million over the next 3 years. In September 2017, the PUC partially approved Boulder’s plan for a separation of assets –  creating a path forward. Boulder voters also approved a ballot initiative that will require a vote before the city moves forward with any purchase of infrastructure.
